MICHELLE R. NEAL, ESQ.

Michelle has over 19 years of labor and employment law experience.  Michelle has conducted dozens of investigations into workplace discrimination and harassment complaints.  Michelle has written and lectured extensively on employment law topics and provides management training on employment law obligations, sexual harassment claim prevention and investigations, workers’ compensation, wage and hour compliance and other topics.  She has been a guest lecturer at several management and human resources courses for the University of California at Davis Extension Programs and for other associations.

Michelle advises and represents employers with respect to wage and hour laws, workers’ compensation issues (including Labor Code 132a and serious and willful misconduct claims), employment discrimination, family and medical leave issues, sexual and other prohibited harassment, personnel policies, preventative employment practices, employee privacy rights, independent contractor issues, and wage audits and claims. 

Prior to entering private practice, Michelle served as Attorney Advisor to the Honorable Henry B. Lasky with the U.S. Department of Labor.  Michelle received her J.D. degree from American University in 1987 and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Westmont College, Santa Barbara, in 1982.

Michelle was a partner at Littler Mendelson where she practiced for ten years before starting her own firm, Employment Law Counsel, LLP.  Michelle independently handles employment and labor law advice and transactional work on behalf of Vision Law Corporation®.  She also performs unlawful harassment training and workplace investigations on behalf of Vision Law Corporation®.
