What Makes Attorney Min Tak Uniquely Qualified To Advise You?

Min Tak brings something many employment lawyers don’t have: years of sitting on the employer’s side of the desk. As General Counsel and Director of Human Resources for a highly regulated aerospace and defense manufacturer, Min has spent the past several years handling the same employee questions that California business owners and HR managers face every day, and answering them in a way that works for the business, not just on paper.

Min advises employers on the full range of California employment issues, including wage and hour compliance, exempt and independent contractor classification, meal and rest periods, leaves of absence, disability accommodations and the interactive process, discipline, and terminations. When a difficult personnel decision comes up, Min helps clients understand their risk in plain terms and choose a practical path forward, before a small problem becomes a lawsuit.

Min also has deep experience building the systems that prevent employee claims in the first place. Min has drafted employee handbooks, policies, and employment agreements; designed and delivered manager training; conducted compliance audits; and led sensitive workplace investigations into harassment, discrimination, and retaliation complaints. Min helped scale the company’s HR and compliance infrastructure as its workforce grew from roughly 260 to more than 340 employees, and led a federal OFCCP compliance audit that concluded with zero findings.

Because Min has managed wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, and wrongful termination disputes alongside outside counsel, Min knows exactly how employee claims develop, and what documentation and policies make the difference once they do. That perspective drives Min’s preventive advice.

Before going in-house, Min spent more than a decade at a California employer-defense firm, representing employers and insurers and advising business clients on wage and hour compliance, workforce policies, and personnel decisions. Min also founded and led a nonprofit organization, an experience that shaped a hands-on, people-first approach to working with clients.

Min earned a J.D. from Loyola Law School and a B.A. from the University of Washington, and is an active member of the State Bar of California. Outside the office, Min serves on the board of The Dignitas Project and coaches high school wrestling.

Min independently advises Vision Law® clients on a contract basis.
