When an employee lawsuit can’t be avoided, employers need a litigator who has seen these cases from start to finish. Jennifer Hinds has spent her career defending businesses in court, including more than eight years representing employers in labor and employment matters at nationally recognized law firms.

Jennifer’s practice focuses on management-side defense of wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) lawsuits, as well as single-plaintiff claims for discrimination, disability discrimination, unreimbursed business expenses, and misclassification. She handles every stage of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, arbitration, court appearances, trial preparation, mediation, and settlement negotiations, in both state and federal court.

Jennifer is also an accomplished appellate and motion advocate. She successfully briefed a published Ninth Circuit order reversing a federal district court’s remand in a Class Action Fairness Act case, and has obtained summary judgment and summary adjudication rulings for business clients, including rulings affirmed by the California Court of Appeal. She has second-chaired four trials, including three jury trials.

Beyond litigation, Jennifer represents employers in traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining and union negotiations, grievance and labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, and union election petitions, and has appeared before the National Labor Relations Board in both union and non-union settings. She also advises companies on policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, and regularly presents CLE programs, webinars, and legal alerts to help employers stay ahead of changes in the law.

Jennifer has represented Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, international manufacturers, and start-ups. She brings that same big-firm experience to California businesses of every size.

Jennifer earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School, where she graduated in the top 15% of her class, served as an editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review, and won the Best Advocate Award in the Roger J. Traynor California Appellate Moot Court Competition. She earned her B.A. in English, magna cum laude, from Santa Clara University, where she competed in NCAA track and field. She is admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia, Texas, New York, Iowa, and Arizona.
